Emergency Roof Repairs
Emergency roof repair is a same-day intervention to stop water entering a building and to make a damaged roof safe. Sovereign Roofing Cumbria answers its emergency line 24 hours a day, makes the roof watertight on the first visit where it is safe to do so, and then quotes separately for the permanent repair.
Roof Repairs
Planned roof repair fixes an identified defect — slipped slates, cracked tiles, failed flashings, valley or ridge problems — before it becomes water ingress. Repairs are appropriate where the covering and structure are otherwise sound and the fault is localised.
Roof Leak Detection
Roof leak detection traces water back from where it appears inside to where it actually enters the roof. Water frequently travels along battens, rafters and purlins before it drops, so the ceiling stain is often several metres from the defect. Detection combines internal tracing, external inspection, drone imagery and, where needed, controlled water testing.
Storm Damage Roof Repairs
Storm damage repair covers making a wind- or water-damaged roof safe, documenting the damage for an insurance claim, and carrying out the permanent reinstatement. The critical first step is a make-safe visit and photographic evidence recorded before anything is disturbed.
Ridge Tile Repairs
Ridge tile repair addresses loose, cracked or displaced ridge and hip tiles and the mortar bedding that holds them. On exposed properties, replacing failed mortar bedding with a mechanically fixed dry ridge system is usually the more durable answer.
Chimney Repairs & Repointing
Chimney repair covers repointing, rebuilding, flaunching, pot and cowl work and the lead flashings that seal the stack to the roof. Chimneys are the most weather-exposed masonry on a building and a very common source of damp attributed to the roof.
Leadwork & Lead Flashings
Roofing leadwork covers flashings, soakers, aprons, back gutters, lead valleys and bay roofs. Lead is used at every junction where a roof meets something else, and correctly formed lead detailing is the difference between a junction that lasts fifty years and one that leaks in five.
