Do you work on retail, hospitality & offices?
We carry out roofing on shops, pubs, hotels, restaurants and offices across Cumbria and the Borders, working out of hours where necessary, protecting public access below the work and responding fast to leaks that would otherwise close a trading floor or guest room.
A leak in a customer-facing building is a trading problem before it is a building problem. Town-centre premises also bring pavement access, neighbouring occupiers and often a listed or conservation-area frontage. We plan those constraints into the price rather than discovering them on site.
What matters here
How we handle this work
Trading hours respected
Noisy or disruptive work scheduled around opening hours, service times or guest occupancy.
Public safety below
Pavement licences, protected walkways, debris netting and signage arranged before the scaffold goes up.
Fast response on occupied premises
Leaks over a shop floor, bar or guest bedroom are attended as emergencies and made watertight the same visit wherever possible.
Conservation-area frontages
Town-centre buildings in Carlisle, Penrith, Kendal and the Borders often need slate and leadwork matched to a protected streetscape.

Emergency Roof Repairs
Emergency roof repair is a same-day intervention to stop water entering a building and to make a damaged roof safe. Sovereign Roofing Cumbria answers its emergency line 24 hours a day, makes the roof watertight on the first visit where it is safe to do so, and then quotes separately for the permanent repair.
Roof Leak Detection
Roof leak detection traces water back from where it appears inside to where it actually enters the roof. Water frequently travels along battens, rafters and purlins before it drops, so the ceiling stain is often several metres from the defect. Detection combines internal tracing, external inspection, drone imagery and, where needed, controlled water testing.
Flat Roofing
Flat roofing covers the installation and repair of EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass, TPO single ply and torch-on bitumen systems on extensions, dormers, garages, porches and commercial roofs. Failure is usually caused by ponding, poor detailing at upstands and outlets, or a system laid over an unsuitable deck.
Roof Repairs
Planned roof repair fixes an identified defect — slipped slates, cracked tiles, failed flashings, valley or ridge problems — before it becomes water ingress. Repairs are appropriate where the covering and structure are otherwise sound and the fault is localised.
Commercial Roofing
Commercial roofing covers survey, repair, recovering and planned maintenance on non-domestic buildings — offices, schools, churches, retail units, industrial premises and public sector estates. The work differs from domestic roofing chiefly in scale, access, programming around building occupation, and the documentation required.
Heritage & Traditional Roofing
Heritage roofing is the repair and renewal of roofs on listed, historic and traditionally built properties using materials and techniques appropriate to the original construction — natural slate and stone slate, lime mortar, traditional leadwork and hand-formed detailing — and carried out within the consents the building's status requires.

Book a commercial roof survey
We survey the roof, report in writing with photographs and drone imagery where useful, and give you repair-or-replace options you can put in front of a board, an owner or an insurer.
