The problem
Widespread nail fatigue, sagging battens and repeated slippage after every gale. Repairs were no longer economic against the frequency of callouts.
What we did
The solution
Full strip and re-roof with salvaged and matched slate, new treated battens, breathable underlay, renewed leadwork to abutments and chimneys, and upgraded ridge and verge fixings for wind uplift.
Result

A roof specified for genuine exposure rather than a like-for-like replacement, with the fixings and detailing that hill-edge weather demands.
